I am currently working on a few historical research projects, although the recent completion of my undergraduate degree means that I am now able to write out of curiosity alone. I have enjoyed the freedom that has offered me, although I wrote several articles (available on this website) while in pursuit of that degree. I look forward to continuing my formal education with a graduate degree in one of my areas of interest.
In progress since 2021, this has evolved into a book-length project over time as I have gathered more and more details. Academic research on the yard has previously been published as books in 1988 and again in 2005, but those both focused on the yard's entire history since 1795. While both are impressive and heavily draw from primary source material, my deep fascination with cruise ship design and construction has drawn my focus to that realm alone. I do not intend to retread the path forged by the earlier works. Rather, I will utilize their insights alongside interviews, primary source documents, and a myriad of other sources to dive deep into their recent projects. My hope is to uncover the hidden secrets of the yard, including never-built ships, as well as the key to their unparalleled quality and efficiency. While there is no deadline, my goal is to complete the book by mid-2028.
